Ihe FMA designation program can enhance your career by making you a more effective, knowledgeable facilities professional, thus positioning you as a key strategic professional within your organization. This program teaches you to manage facilities in a way that best supports staff and fits into the organizations overall objectives. To earn the FMA designation, you must complete these seven mandatory courses plus the one-day Ethics Is Good Business® ShortCourse (As of July 1, 1997):
- The Design, Operation, and Maintenance of Building Systems, Part I
- The Design, Operation, and Maintenance of Building Systems, Part II
- Fundamentals of Facilities Management
- Technologies for Facilities Management
- Facilities Planning and Project Management
- Real Estate Investment and Finance
- Environmental Health and Safety Issues or Environmental Health and Safety Issues Canadian Version
Code of Ethics
In addition to requiring Ethics Is Good Business®, the Institute requires that all designees abide by a Code of Professional Ethics and Conduct.
Continuing Professional Development

College Credit Recommendation
Courses in the FMA curriculum are designed to cover the equivalent of 30 classroom hours. ACE/College Credit Recommendation Service reviews BOMI Institute's U.S. courses and recommends most for college credit.
