This Open Forum discussed the USGBC (U.S Green Building Council)'s LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) green building rating/certification program and more. Attendees came away with a general understanding of not only the programs and their goals, but the costs and benefits regarding construction, operating expense and marketing advantages of "Green" Buildings.
October 12:
Storm Water Pollution Prevention Regulations

The New York State Department Of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) has adapted regulations governing the discharge of storm water from construction sites where more than one acre of soil is disturbed. This regulation has strict requirements in connection with the design and permitting required for regulating storm water and erosion controls.
Developers are subject to significant penalties (stop-work orders and high fines) for non-compliance with these new regulations.
This roundtable will familiarize you with the requirements for compliance with the regulations as well as the consequences of non-compliance. Furthermore, there will be discussion on the recommendations for maintenance of storm water systems on existing operating properties.
